We’re excited to be involved in the development of a remarkable new Islamic Centre in Redbridge. This project will replace the aging existing building, which has reached the end of its serviceable life, with a modern four-storey structure featuring a full-footprint basement.

Despite the challenges posed by the site’s tight footprint and proximity to neighbouring dwellings, the design maximises both space and functionality.

A key innovation in the scheme is the use of a Vierendeel truss structure at first floor level, which eliminates the need for ground floor columns and creates a completely open, uninterrupted space internally. The exposed engineered joists not only enable this flexible layout but also add warmth and architectural character, enhancing the experience for those using the space.
