Devise undertook the structural and below ground drainage design for this new classroom extension to this SEN school in South London.

Given the condensed construction schedule - limited to the school's summer holiday - we eliminated the need for any temporary works. This was achieved by forming new steel channels against the existing roof beams and then saw-cutting and removing the existing columns once the entire structure was in place.

Finite element analysis was conducted which enabled us to justify that the original external pile-supported RC slab had sufficient capacity for the new lightweight structure.
